Soveliss is an adventurer that hails from the Eladrin-ruled city of Ralindor that rests in the north of the large island just off the western coast of Cyr-Myth. Little is known of his exact past beyond his own claims. These include that he had a rather uneventful, but happy, childhood and happens to be descended from a long line of expert strategists and tacticians. Whether this is true or not, it is certain that Soveliss is absolutely on his own way to becoming one.
He has held a love for strategy and tactics from a young age learning and mastering many popular games played throughout Cyr-Myth. As he grew into adolescence this passion evolved into the studying of various books and treatises on battle strategy and military tactics. Enamored with the stories of adventures and epic wars fought that frequently accompanied such information, Soveliss has often remarked that it surprised no one when, upon becoming an adult, he decided to set out for a life of adventure on his own.
His first stop was in Palanthas seeing it as the best suited place to begin such an endeavor. It was here that he met Donovan and was quickly hired on to work among his many spies tasked with retrieving books and documents to further expand the collection of the Historical Libraria of Cyr. With his quick wits, vast knowledge and powerfully charismatic personality Soveliss was a perfect fit for situations where brute force or veiled deceptions were less than desirable. While perhaps not as glorious as the adventures he once read of, Soveliss knew it was a good start and that in the mean time it perhaps meant access to the collection Donovan has been assembling; a chance for the Eladrin to further expand his ever growing knowledge.
Soveliss is well known for not only his high intelligence and fast thinking mind, but also for his charming personality. When in public around Palanthas, Soveliss typically wears various cloaks of darker color (usually black or green) and keeps the hood raised preferring not to draw attention to himself. He is also know to always be carrying an ocarina, which he can play rather well, that he claims is a cherished memento given to him as a child by his family. He is typically very laid back and prefers to approach problems in a calculating manner rather than showing any type of worry or concern. He tends to be the type to get along with everyone, but this is more out of a desire to see the task at hand through to completion. He will eagerly be the mediator among a group if inter-party conflict arrives, but when pushed to the limit his own grievances will come out.
Despite this, he is very aware of his own talents and is not above portraying himself as an intimidating brute or a sensual charmer if the situation calls for it. When seeking out books for Donovan, Soveliss employs a variety of disguises and false identities and will freely create these on the fly to avoid leaving any means of tracing things back to him or his employer. Soveliss prefers to avoid battle on his own, but when fighting alongside companions he becomes a dangerous threat using his knowledge of battle tactics and quick thinking to exploit every weakness available and guide his allies to a swift victory.
